Bonnie & all, The Sussex County Orphan Court records are on file at the county clerk's office with the rest of the probate, wills, inventories, minute books, receipt books. I can not give more particulars because I haven't been over there since they moved from the old to new buildings. They have all the probate records indexed - the oldest are indexed in books - the newest on computer. When you locate a persons name in the index, all the applicable records are listed including orphan, receipts, etc. On the trickier files, I've found the receipt file to have the best "brick wall breaking" info. It is a record of when the heirs received their inheritance - you will see records of children when they reach the age of majority, more current non-Sussexc county address for receipients, etc. To my knowledge, none of these indices is on the Internet. I didn't know these records existed until I saw your message.
