Hello Rick, I saw your post on the NJSussex Rootsweb list and wondered if we had any matches with surnames Grover and Emery... I have a living relative who is more directly descended from Philip "Tip" Grover and I only have a bit on my Emery (so could really use some filling in for this surname if we match). Phillip W. "Tip" Grover, b. 1863 in NJ; m. Phebe Caroline "Carrie" Ackerman, b. 24 Apr 1870, NJ. Since "Tip" died, "Carrie" remarried a man called Claude H. Bray, b. in Rhode Island in 1888. Carrie and Claude were my living relative's G-Grandparents. Tip and Carrie Grover's children were: 1.) Watson Grover, b. 1888; died tragically in a construction train accident at work in 1910. 2.) Anna Grover, Watson's younger sister who married Albert Koster, a man who died prematurely in 1919, shot in the Silk Truck Robbery as an innocent bystander; those accused were sentenced to death. Tip Grover's parents were: John S. Grover, 1831 - 1900 and Elizabeth Chambers, b. Mar 1835 In addition to Philip "Tip" Grover, their children were: 2.) Theodore Denton Grover, b. 1859 3.) Norman Grover , b. 26 Jan 1862 in Stillwater twp, Sussex Co., NJ 4.) Frank Lester Grover, b. 1867 5.) Stella C. Grover, b. 1868 As to my Hamler family (my maiden name was Hamler), two Hamler brothers married two of the Ackerman sisters (sisters of Phebe Caroline "Carrie" Ackerman, b. 24 Apr 1870, NJ). Their father, David Hamler, had a brother who was my GGrandfather, William H. Hamler (1807 - 1854, Sussex Co., NJ). Descended from William H. Hamler's first son, Isaac S. Hamler (Jul 1833 - Jul 1906, NJ) were two daughters, Nellie Jane Hamler b. 1857 and Laura E. Hamler, b. 1861. This is where it gets complicated because it appears that both sisters die relatively young, but after marrying and giving birth. Nellie Jane married a man whose last name was "Wade" and they had a daughter named Emma J. Wade, b. 1874. By the Census of 1880 Emma Wade was living with her Grandparents, Isaac S. & Mary (Paugh) Hamler, neither parent in sight. With Laura E. Hamler, she seems to have married James Emery; their child was Paul James Emery, b. Jul 1898 but by the 1900 Census, this Grandchild of Isaac and Mary Hamler was living with them, also no parents to be seen. If anything sounds like it would connect with your family, I would appreciate hearing... Sincerely, Kathleen Hamler Purchase _LPurch6636@aol.com_ (mailto:LPurch6636@aol.com)

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone.
