He recevied distinguised service, Union side, NJ Unit 1245; Enlisted as private on 28 May 1861, Co. F, 2nd Inf. Regt. Deserted Co.F, 2nd Inf. Regt., NJ on 16 August 1862 in Harrison's Landing, VA. Can anyone add any information to "Barney"? I do know that he married Catherine Ann Coursen" in Sussex Co., NJ. She died ca. 1870. "Barney" died prior to or about 1891. Can anyone find a more exact date of death? Where was he buried? Catherine Ann was buried in Newton Cemetery, Newton, Sussex, NJ. But "Barney" is not buried there. "Barney's" parents were John CRABTREE and Eliza GIVEANS of Sussex Co., NJ. "Barney" was born ca. 1840. Any help will be most appreciated.
