    3. >From the Sussex County Independent for Thursday, October 1, 1942 Mrs. W. Pittenger - Mrs. Elizabeth Pittenger, seventy, died Monday at her home in Milton after a long illness. She leaves her husband, Warren Pittenger and seven daughters, Mrs. Minnie Werner, of Long Island; Mrs. Amy Norman, of Oak Ridge; Mrs. Mabel McCroy, of Wharton; Mrs. Gertrude Arrouge, of Stockholm; Mrs. Ruth Garlinghouse, of McAfee; Mrs. Sylvia Kimble, of Newfoundland; two sons, Russell Pittenger, of the Army in California, and Harry Pittenger, of the Army in Maryland; twenty-one grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert VanOrden, of Miami, Fla., and one sister, Mrs. Luella Van Bree, of Rockaway. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Milton Methodist Church, by Rev. Howard Williams, of Stockholm Methodist Church. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery. >From the Sussex County Independent for Thursday, October 1, 1942 Mrs. William Sayre - Mrs. Mary C. Sayre died Sunday night at her home in Sparrowbush, N. Y., after a long illness. Mr. Sayre, a member of the Sparrowbush Methodist Church, was born in Sparrowbush on August 6, 1893. She was a daughter of Albert and Maria Constant Linkey. She was married December 25, 1919, to William L. Sayre. Surviving are her husband, her mother, three daughters, Lillian M., Dorothy W., and Wilma, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Adams and Miss Anna Linkey, of Sparrowbush, and four brothers, Jacob and Albert, of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.; Orion, of Sparrowbush, and Emerson, of Newton. The Rev. R. R. Hill conducted funeral services Wednesday at 3:30 p. m. at the residence. Interment was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush. >From the Sussex County Independent for Thursday, October 1, 1942 Mrs. Edward F. Dunn - Mrs. Catherine McConnell Dunn, seventy-four, died at her home in Stockholm on Monday, after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Edward f. Dunn, and one brother, Michael McConnell, of Stockholm. Funeral services were held today at 11 a. m. from the Shuman Funeral Home, Sparta, by Rev. Howard Williams, pastor of the Stockholm Methodist Church. Burial was in the North Church Cemetery.
