Is anyone researching a Smith line that includes my gggrandmother? Her name was Matilda Smith, she was born Nov. 21, 1821, probably in Sussex County, and she married my gggrandfather Ziba Nichols around 1840, probably in Sussex County. In 1858 she and Ziba moved to Henry County, Illinois, then to Rice County, Kansas in 1881. She died in Rice County Feb. 29, 1888. Debbie Bleger Researching Nichols and Smith
As to the Smith family, I would like to know about Sarah Smith and her husband John Parse, where they were married and who were their ancestors and where from. The couple may have lived in Sussex Co., and also were registered in a baptist church near Amity, Orange Co., NY. Their oldest son was born ca. 1767. They had 10-11 children, so perhaps Sarah Smith was born in the early 1740s. Thank you for any information. S.
