It is on www.findagrave.com let me know if you find errors. I sent a letter to Stanhope Union for the locations, plot numbers for the Sickels/Sickles, etc family to verify info. I also have a copy of the original transcript. Please add names if you have burial info. If so, would you send the link. I had roamed around the cemetery one day but didn't find the Pierces or the Sickles. I did find Fannie Pierce Haggerty. I didn't see them near her. I could have missed them. Pierce, age 49 years. He is the husband of Phebe Ann Sickles. The above agrees with Pat Best info. Then I found an entry in the Stanhope Union Cem transcript (today) that lists "Pierce, William H. d. Mar 8, 1899 age 49 yrs 3 mons. G.A.R in Plot N". This is the Pierce family plot. I think the Transcript is in error. Then there is the Apr 1892 article of the death of Wm. Henry Pierce. Is the 1892 date correct? Then the July 1892 article Mrs. Mary Pierce, widow = ice cream saloon. Article of Oct 1893 Mrs. Matilda Pierce, Lambert Riker - her husband blown up in Forcite explosion. The above two articles do not give the husbands first names. Was there more than one PIERCE that died in that explosion? Karen, NJ ----- Original Message ----- From: pascalfl To: njsussex@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2007 10:15 AM Subject: Re: [NJSUSSEX] Forcite Powder Explosion and widow Would you post that obit. I am confused. The article lists his wife as Matilda and tentatively identifies her as Matilda Riker. Matilda Riker was born circa 1871. William Henry Pierce, born 1844, husband of Phebe Sickles, has children with her up to 1890 so I can't figure out how he would have been married to Matilda. There are a couple of other William Pierces living Morris Co. in 1880 that are closer to Matilda's age who are possibly her husband. I do see that Phebe is a widow by 1900, but I had William's death date as 1899. This could be my mistake.
