John HEATON, b. Hardwick township, Sussex County, NJ in 1754 and married Anne DRAKE of Independence, Sussex County in 1789. Anne was the daughter of Joseph Drake of Roxbury Township. Johb HEATON was the son of BENJAMIN HEATON (1726-1790), who lived at Kingwood, Hunterdon County, NJ before coming to Hardwik, Sussex County. I understand that both Hardwick and Kingwood were Quaker communities, and suspect these Heatons were Quakers. Can anyone tell me if the Quakers would have kept family records, and how I could get access to them? Thanks.
