It seems that my COURTRIGHT family has some connection to Simon WESTFALL & Peter DECKER. In the 1850 Huron Co., OH census they are found together. I know that Simon Westfall & his wife Esther Brink had a daughter named Jane b. July 18, 1807 in the Minnisink RDC. There were many Decker's & Courtrights in this church at the same time, but as yet I can't connect my Courtrights to them. I know there were many intermarriages between these families over the years. I just can't dismiss this as a coincidence that they are all right next to each other. Jacob V. Courtwright (as I'm finding they spelled the name) was the oldest son of my elusive John. In the 1850 census his wife & children are listed as Margaret age 51 b. England, Lidia age 18, William 15 & Jacob 13, next door is John b. 1827 w/ wife Mary & daughters Eliza & Sarah , then next is Peter Decker w/ wife Jane & son James age 19 & daughter Cornelia 16, a 4 yr old male named Wellington Fernata !!! & then Simon 67 & Esther Westfall 60. Another curious thing is Jacob V.'s children are not listed in order, they are listed backwards : Jacob the youngest at 13 is listed, then 15 yo William & then Lidia. Also in the home are Jane Wellington age 15 & Anson Steel age 25, laborer. Could Jacob V. have had several wives & Jacob is the only son of Margaret's so is listed first? If anyone knows abt this or any of these folks I'm all ears. :>) Cindy
