    3. Dear Don, I can't give you a clear cut answer to Samuel Johnson's family but can give you a possibility: In 1724 "Court Jansen & Churtie Laen of the Raretans" had a child bpt at FreeholdRDC, Monmouth Co, NJ. In 1730s-1741 time frame property of "Court Johnson" appears in at least one land desciption at Readington [Reading or Reading town], Hunterdon Co, NJ. [Property transfer from Adriaen Lane, this Court's father-in-law, to Gerret Van Sickle] Adriaen Lane was one of the first settlers to Somerset/Hunterdon Co, NJ and a founder [c1710/11] of the Six Mile Run RDC at [now] Franklin Park, NJ. Unfortunately, most of the pre-1743 records for Six Mile Run have been lost so if your Samuel was bpt there prior to 1743 you aren't going to find his baptismal record. There are a number of "Jansen" bpts on the records of the Readington & Raritan RDCs but I don't (on a quick go-through), find a Samuel recorded. Perhaps you'd find something on him in the NJ wills for Jansen/Johnson families of the area. Good luck, Laurie mailto:light30@earthlink.net Seeking to untangle the NJ branches of the Van Sickle families! ----- Original Message ----- From: Susan Kronenberger <sdkron@hotmail.com> To: <NJSUSSEX-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 19, 2000 1:07 PM Subject: [NJSUSSEX-L] Re: Braden/Breden and Samuel Johnson > Sue Beach's message refers to a "deed of conveyance from Samuel JOHNSON late > of Kingwood in the County of Hunterdon deceased and Mary his wife bearing > the date" Aug. 25, 1761.
