John M. SLOAT is in the 1840 Census for Sussex Co., in 'Hardisten'. My ancestor is Judith SLOAT b 6 April 1764 probably in NY. She was married to Stephen MASTERS in Hardiston 9/16/1783 by Ludwick Hoglan, JP. Is anyone searching SLOAT or know who John M.'s parents may be? Thought perhaps he is a nephew or some relation to my Judith. OR does anyone know if there might be any JP records at a genealogical or history society in Sussex Co.
