Don't want to start an "offtopic" thread here but just an observation: Noted a couple of Roots-L folks commenting on the recent viral unpleasantness and the implication that the iMACs are/were immune. Please don't get complacent! This time the MAC community lucked out for the most part. My cube neighbor and I use the only imacs in the department. She saw the critter twice in her email box and even opened it once. Fortunately the trigger did not activate (that we know of). Some of the local PC users did not fare so well. This incident apparently was pretty much restricted to systems that use a specific OS, browser, and MSWord. As far as I know Unix, Solaris, and the other "specialty" OS were not affected (or INfected). MACs are VERY susceptible to virus infections and you must take the same precautions (like keeping your virus definitions current) as the PCs. I agree that it's a good system but it's certainly not immune from the bad stuff. Now back to the exciting adventure........ Rich in NH
