    1. [NJSUSSEX-L] Jacob MYERS - b. ca 1764 - residing Walpack, Sussex, NJ until 1850 m. Sarah CORTRIGHT

    3. I am interested in the Myers family of Walpack, Sussex, NJ. Jacob was born about 1763 and married Sarah Cortright. Jacob died about 1850 and is buried with his wife on what is now called "The Jacob Roe Farm". Snell's History of Sussex says that Jacob came from Montague, however, I have not found any evidence to prove or disprove that fact. Sarah's parentage is also a mystery in that the Abbott book on the Cortrights show her as a daughter of Jacob Cortright and Jannetje Ennes. My research has not convinced me of this, even though the Minisink Church records show a baptism for a Sarah, daughter of Jacob Cortright and Jannetje Ennes. Recently I found a likely candidate for Jacob's father in the IGI. The record shows that shows Jacob's father was a Jacob, who married a Roxanne. This was information provided in a temple submission, so it is not likely there is any more information or even a source for this. The reason this is a promising lead is that Jacob and Sarah named a daugher, Roxanne. And, if it is true that Jacob's parents are Jacob and Roxanne, I have pretty much established a pattern of names for all children, but 2. Those two are Abijah and Carlisle. I would really like to find someone else interested in these families. Allied Surnames are: Fuller, Losey, Rosencrance, Coss Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Patrice Houck Schadt
