" The Corn Man" Buczek Sr. of Port Jervis, a produce farmer and lifetime resident of the area, died Wednesday, July 12,2000, at the home of his son in Port Jervis. He was 78. The son of the late Martin and Eva Rodak Buczek, he was born Sept. 8, 1921 in Montague, NJ. He was married to the late Dorothy M/ Stewart Buczek, who died Aug. 14, 1995. A veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII, he was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. A family statement reads," He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. always talking about his children and grandchildren. Known as the Corn Man, his many customers were also his friends, from the days of selling door to door to later operating out of his garage on Church Street. survivors included one son, Stanley J. Buczek jr. Port Jervis; four daughters, Eve Marie Hobson , MAry Reed, Laura Nicolette and Lisa Buczek all of Port Jervis; one sister Frances Novak of Huguenot; 11 grandchildren, Stanley and Kyle Buczek, Andrea Horner, Jeremiah Hobson, Amy, Luck, Sarah Reed, Daniel and Stephaine Nicolette, Thomas Hawkes jr. and Rachel Hawes; one great granddaughter, Alexandria Horner; and nieces and nephews. he was predeceased by one sister , Mary Brezowski; and three brothers John, Andrew, and Jacob Buczek. friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday,July 14, at Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main St, Port Jervis. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a, Saturday July 15, at the funeral home, followed by a 10 am mass of the Resurrection at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis, The Rev. Dennis M. Dinan will officiate. Burial will be in the St, Mary's Cemetery Port Jervis.
