Where would I find Naturalization records for someone who lived in Sussex (Morris) County, NJ around the mid 1700's? My ancestor was of German descent, but I can't determine if HE came from Germany. In many Sussex County histories there is mention of a group of settlers who came from Germany after Casper Shaffer and Mr. Bernhardt who settled early on in the area of Stillwater.
