Gerald -- Thank you for your reply to my request for help on the line of Elizabeth Myers and John Losey. I am copying this to the Losey and the Sussex New Jersey list because I think some of the information may be of help to others interested in this line. I found all the Myers relationships mentioned in the sections of the tree you sent very interesting. First of all -- I think the following shows that the Elizabeth who married John Losey was a Myers and not an Ayers. Will of Jacob Myers, Walpack, Sussex, NJ, filed 10 Sept 1850, #2650 S. Mentions daughter, Elizabeth Losey and son in law John Losey. I have identified the children of Jacob and Sarah and have found that the only children to stay in Sussex County were: John Losey and wife, Elizabeth Abijah, died (I think 1849), leaving a widow Harriet Teel Myers. (His will is on file in Trenton, but I do not have it.) Carlise Myers, died abt 1836, leaving a widow, Mariah Coss Myers. She died in 1839, leaving 4 sons, all minors. Tryphenah Myers, is only familar to me as I found her marriage record. I don't think she connects to my Myers line, but probably to the other Myers line. She is not mentioned in Jacob's will, so is not a daughter. She could have been a grandaughter, that hasn't been identified by name. In the inventory of assets in the estate of Jacob Myers, were a list of notes held by Jacob. Among those owing money to Jacob are the following people: John Smith, Peter Fuller*, Abraham Bevans, AVC Rosencrans*, Rundle, James Alfred and Henrietta Myers, Jesse Losey, Bartley Myers, Charles L. Sullivan, Jonathan Rosencrans, Peter Dewitt, Jesse Losey, John Losey*, Phillip Coss*, and Jacob Myers, Jr.** * son in law ** son Elizabeth Myers baptismal record is at The DRC Walpack. Abijah Myers, eldest son of Jacob, had 4 sons and 2 daughters in the 1830 census. Carlisle Myers, had 1 daughter and 4 sons in the 1830 census. ( Maria Coss Myers estate mentions: Jason C., Albert, William, and Erastus Myers (all minors in 1839). Transcript does not mention daughter, have not identified at this point. Albert may be James Albert mentioned with Henrietta in Jacob Sr.'s will. Bartley Myers is the son of Jacob Myers, Jr. and one of his wives. I am not sure which one. Mentioned in the 1860 census of Jefferson Twp., Luzerne County, PA. I don't know who Chaulkey Myers is, perhaps son of Abijah. I think the Harriet Myers who married Isaac is actually Harriet Teel, widow of Abijah Myers. This is a theory and further research needs to be done on that. Also of interest is that in the 1850 census of Walpack, there is a Arvilla Myers, age 23 and a Mary Myres, age 20 listed with Siras Losey and Trifena Myers Losey. Are they daughters of Abijah, or Carlisle? In the Walpack church records, I find no Locey, or Losey baptisms. I have never found a baptismal record for Abijah or Carlisle. According to Snell, Jacob was from Montague. Again thanks for the help and I will certainly post new developments. Hope you will keep me posted as well. Patrice
