>From the Wantage Recorder, Friday, December 15, 1911: "Abigail GIVEANS died at her home with her sister, Mrs. R. J. Blauvelt, in Lafayette, on Friday last after an illness of some duration from paralysis. She was a daughter of John F. and Mary (SIMONSON) GIVEANS fromerly of Vernon, where she was born and reared. After her mother's death her father removed to Deckertown where she kept house for him and her brother, John S., until their deaths. The latters death in 1905 broke up the household. A member of Wantage grange of this borough, after her removal to Lafayette she sent an affectionate farewell to her brothers and sisters of the order when she realized that she could meet with them no more. She was also a member of the Hook and Ladder Ladies' Auxiliary and also of the First Baptist Church of this borough. Seven brtohers and sisters survive her: Samuel S., of Bay St.Louis, Miss.; Christopher, of Glenwood; Isadore, of Newton; Mrs. Hannah COUSE, of Hamburg; Mrs. Kate S. BLAUVELT, of Lafayette; and Mrs. Emma FISHER, of Washington, D. C. She was about 63 years of age. The funeral was held at the house on Monday at 12 o'clock. Rev. E. E. Loux Officiating.
