Records from two publications indicate that John Peter LANCE b 1708 Germany, d 1771 NJ, came to America about 1738. There is an indication that ANTHONY LANCE b1798 d 1835 is a decendant of John Peter ANTHONY appears to have had only two children, John and Jacob. No records seem to exist for their marriages or offspring. Best guesses on dates of birth for the two boys is between 1820 and 1825. William LANCE, b 1820 married a CHARLOTTE or SHARLOTTE of unknown last name. Willim's first son, b 1852 in or near Blairstown, NJ was ANTHONY LANCE.
