Dick, Here's the scope. You will not find anything in the immediate area. When we go up we usually stay in Stroudsburg PA and drive over to NJ. There is a small Days Stop in Columbia at RT 94 and I-80. In NJ, there is a Holiday Motel in Andover on RT 206 just outside of Springdale. Stay away from the other motel in Newton, it used to be called "Feyer's Country Inn." There is a B & B on Goodale Road, "The Duck Inn." Haven't stayed there but it is almost next door to the area where my GGmother lived at one time. /That house is now gone. (trivia for you). There is a new Days Inn in McAfee, but it is quite a drive. The next closest area is Ledgewood Circle where there is a Days Inn or a Quality Inn, but as I recall it was pricey and not that great. It is on RT 46. Then you get over to the Lake Mohawk area where you will find a Sheraton. Also pricey, but your paying for the location. In Stroudsburg we stay at the Best Western. Nothing to write home about, except it is cheap. $50 a night with a Traveler's Advantage membership and that was during ski season. There is a new Hampton Inn in Stroudsburg, and I'm certain that is where we will stay next time. Stay away from the Ramada, it is a dump. If you stay in PA you will pay $1.00 to get to PA from Jersey, but not to get to Jersey from PA. Also, the Delaware Water Gap is nice to see. Should you stay in PA you will take I-80 east to Rt. 94. Then take 94 right into Blairstown. There you will find the Blairstown Diner. Good breakfast for the money. Just down the street is the road (on left) to Stillwater. Look up Mrs. Elsie Roof, she is now the street from the General Store/Post Office/Deli. What a wonderful lady with great insight, and one of the oldest residence in Stillwater. She is also on the historical committee for the church. I have relatives buried in Stillwater Cem. (Grover, Gruver, Gruber, South, Wintermute, Emery, etc.) Call if I can help with anything.
