All of these families are together in the early RDC records in the Minisink area pre-1800. About 1797-1800 many of them migrated to the Ohio River Valley area. My John Courtright, Jacob Figley & Abraham Westfall went to the Pittsburgh, PA area & then in 1818 moved across the OH state line into Columbiana/Jefferson co., OH. They all lived near each other but I can find no documents to prove a relationship. I have a few strays, other than my John, that I can't connect. Found in the 1850 Carroll Co., Oh census, along w/ John Courtrights daughter Rebecca Courtright Kelly, is the following FIGLEY family: Joseph age 47 born PA, Sarah age 46 PA, Elizabeth 23 PA, Joseph 21 PA, Sarah J. 19 PA, Mary A. 17 PA, Matilda 15 OH, all the rest OH, William 13, Maria 11, Ellen 11, John J. 9, Robert 7 & George 4. Next door is : Andrew Figley age 24 PA, Eliza 21 OH, Theresa 1 OH. Eliza is Eliza WESTFALL, d/o Levi Westfall & Nancy Maxwell, Levi was the s/o Abraham Westfall & Blandina VAN ETTEN. Abraham & Blandina had 12 children & I have his information, to which I am grateful to all who have helped with that lineage. One daughter Naomi married Thomas SERGENT. I believe they are the parents of Mary Sergent b. 1826 & married 1844 to William COURTRIGHT s/o John Courtright & Mary CLARK. If anyone can help straighten these folks out I would appreciate any help or clues. How does Joseph FIGLEY b. 1803 relate to Jacob Figley who died c1821 in Washington Co., PA? If my John Cortright is the s/o John Cortright & Susanna KITTLE (who was bap. 1780 in the Machackemack RDC) all these folks would be his cousins. Thanks again!
