Sussex Independent, Nov. 21, 1902: "Obadiah Pellet, 3d, Jr., formerly of this county, died at his home at Pompton, NJ on Saturday last, November 15th. Deceased was a son of the late Obadiah Pellet, of Newton, and a grandson of Obadiah Pellet, of Papakating. He was born October 20th, 1828, in Frankford township and was in his 75th year. He was the oldest of four children, all of whom are now dead with the exception of Mrs. Martha J. Armstrong, wife of Thomas Armstrong of this town. The other children were Oakley B. of Chicago, and William, for many years a resident of Newton. He was twice married, his first wife being Emma J., daughter of the late Dr. John Beach, of Branchville. Two children, John B. and Eva J. of Dover, NJ. His second wife was Catharine Jarvis, who with two children, George and Joseph, still survive him. They reside at Pompton Plains. Mr. Pellet was well and favorable known in this county, where the greater part of his life was passed. The funeral was held at Pompton Plains, on Tusday, November..."
