Sussex Independent, Friday, Feb. 6, 1903: "Mary (Parcel) Havens, widow of the late Samuel S. Havens, died at the home of her brother, Simeon, where she has resided for the past 13 years, on Tuesday of this week. Mrs. Havens was in her 58th year. Her husband died about fourteen years ago. Deceased is survived by two children, Samuel S. Havens, Jr., and Ella D., both of whom reside at home. She is also survived by two brothers, Simeon, of this town and Amzie, of Newton, and four sisters, Anna, wife of William Adams, of Stillwater; Harriet, wife of William Miller, of Newton; Sarah, wife of Samuel Wilson, of Hamburg; Phila, wife of James T. McCoy of near Goshen, NY. The funeral will be held at 11 o'clock Friday, at the house. Interment at Papakating."
