Sussex Independent, November 10, 1905: "From our Sparta Correspondent:" "John Young, well known in this vicinity, was found dead at the home of his half-brother, Walter Lozier, of Passaic, last Sunday morning. For some time he had been connected with a company constructing telephone lines, leaving Monday and returning Saturday evening. Last Sunday morning, as Mrs. Lozier entered the hallway, she saw Mr. Young sitting in a chair, his head and shoulders inclined forward and wedged into a corner. By his side was his satchel. The coroner's decision was he died from strangulation. The deceased was about forty years of age and was a whole-souled, hard-working man. He leaves one son, aged about eighteen years, and several brothers. The funeral was held Tuesday at the M. E. Church at Milton. Interment in the Headly cemetery."
