    2. Sussex Independent, Fri., Feb. 6, 1903: "Thomas Chamberlain died at his home in Waverly, Pa., Jan. 25th, 1903, aged ninety-two years. He went to Pennsylvania forty-eight years ago, and was one of the oldest men in Lackawanna county. Death was due to old age and general debility. Mr. Chamberlain was of New Jersey stock, having been born in Deckertown in 1811. His sturdy manhood and great strength of character won for him many firends. He was twice married, his wives being sisters, Misses Lucinda and Harriet Nanny of Amity, Orange county, NY. By his first wife he had four children: Delliker of Leadville, Colo.; Whitfield of Amity, NY; Mrs. Wheeler of Red Bank, NJ; and Mrs.J. C. Reynolds of Waverly, Pa. By his second wife he had one daughter, Mrs. Elmer Dean, who died leaving a daughter, who resides at Waverly. He had been ill for more than a year. Mr. Chamberlain had been a member of the Presbyteriean Church for many years, and his life ahd been one of strictest honesty and uprightness. The flickering flame of life had remained lighted more than ninety years, and as the shadows of death crept over him he placed his trust in Him whom he had served so long and so faithfully, and smiled as the end came. Interment was in Hickory Grove Cemetery, at Waverly, Pa."
