Sussex Independent, Friday, August 4, 1905: "Mary, wife of the late John Gallagher, died suddenly at her farm home, near Johnsons, Orange county, on Saturday last. Mrs. Gallagher, with her children and grandchildren, was in the habit of passing the summer months at the old homestead, returning to her home in Paterson for the winter. She was aged about 70 years. Her husband died about three years ago. Shei is survived by four children, all grown. Mrs. Gallagher was a lady highly esteemed and respected by all who knew her, and her death is greatly regretted. The funeral was held at her home at 174 Sixteenth avenue, Paterson, on Tuesday, from St. Joseph's R. C. Church at 9:30 o'clock, where a requiem mass was celebrated. Interment at Holy Sepulchre, near Paterson."
