Sussex Independent, Friday, August 4, 1905: "Miss Beulah May, daughter of the late Jacob S., and Beulah (Harden) Hiles,died at her home in this town about noon, Tueday. She had been cleaning around the yard and started for the well, when she was seen to fall. Friends immediately carried her into the house, where she expired almost instantly, death being due to heart failure, from which she had been suffering some time. Miss Hiles was born on the Hiles farm, at Beaver Run, April 30th, 1865, where she resided until the death of her father, about five years ago. Her mother has been dead forty years. The deceased is survived by her stepmother, Mrs. Amelia (Dennis) Hiles. She was of a quiet disposition and a devout christian, having been a member of the Lafayette M.E. church a number of years before coming to this town. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church today (Thursday) at one o'clock. Interment at Frankford Plains."
