    1. [NJSUSSEX-L] Silas Riggs
    2. I need some help here. Here's a problem for all you experts on the RIGGS that stayed in New Jersey. My g grandparents were John RIGGS b. about 1823 d. 6 March 1888 and Mary LOZAW b. about 1824. She was the daughther of Frank Lozaw. This infromation came from the death certificates from the State of New Jersey. These documents state that the parents of John Riggs were Silas Riggs and Mary ROLENBACK. This family lived in Vernon Township, Sussex, NJ. I have found a Silas Riggs b. 8 April 1781 and a Mary ROORBACH RORBACH b. 1784 married on 24 April 1803. There seems to be some confusion as to the children. I have found Rev. John Riggs b 1802, Amos Riggs b. 1804, Elizabeth, and Thompson D. b. 1811 d. 1889. Some family members believe John Riggs to have been a minister, but he is listed as a laborer and a farmer in the census. Either this is the wrong Silas or the dates are incorrect. Any one know of another Silas Riggs from Vernon Township in this time period or does anyone have additional information on the children of Silas Riggs and Mary Roorbach Rorbach Rolenback. Thanks. (Mr.) Terry Hann
