He was born in Sussex Co., NJ on Dec. 19, 1782, from whence, with his parents, he emigrated to Elmira. Here he reided until his 20th yr. when he removed with his father's family to Starkey, Yates Co.; later he moved to Bath. He enlisted in the War of 1812 under Gen. Mc Clure. In his 36th yr. he was Married to Sally Carpenter, who still survives him. Maybe this will be of help to someone. Leigh Jones
