If any of you have relatives who moved to Michigan in the mid 1800s, the Library of Michigan has almost all of the 1870 census for Michigan online at http://envoy.libraryofmichigan.org/1870_census/. They add additional pages regularly and the goal is to have the entire census up. The search feature works pretty well and it has helped me find Roricks, Ayers, Van Sickles, Beardslees, Shaugers, Moores, and others from Sussex County who emigrated there. It saved me at least a day's worth of work at the National Archives. Just thought this might be helpful to someone. Please contact me off list as you responded to another message as well about the Sutton - Beardsley connection. Hope you saw it. Would like to communicate with you further regarding these two surnames as well. Look forward to hearing from you. Christie Trapp
