    3. Thanks to all who responded so quickly to my request. John was probably born in 1780 but since no birth date is given & there are instances in this church of older children being baptised I can't rule him out. Lots of Quicks & Kukendalls here too. I remain hopefull.....Cindy

    1. [NJSUSSEX-L] William Courtright d. 1760
    2. Cindy Torres Owens
    3. Northampton Co. PA land deed of 1791 gives property history including info that on 22 March 1760, Margaret Cortrecht, widow of William, petitions land be given to son John with considerations for other 5 children of William named as Hendrick, Elias, Josias, Susanna Cortrecht, and daughter Charity, then the wife of Giddeon Middaugh. John later deeds land to Abraham Cortrecht. (LDS Microfilm 0953686 Vol G1, p. 626.) William was born 1702 to Jan Hendricksen Cortright & his first wife Marytje Vreedenburg. I had no record of the son John who appears to be the oldest & of course would love to know what happened to him. This John is a first cousin to the John who married Susanna Kittel, so you see I have no shortage of Johns to consider! :>) Cindy

    3. Hello everyone, I would imagine that photo's can be useful in the struggles of genealogy. I found a page that may be useful and also noticed it has multiple links to various genealogy pic's. If you're interested here is the link.... http://www.photopoint.com/gallery/index.html Unfortunately I don't think there is currently a way to search for only NJ related images but I can tell you that the "Historical" section was pretty good. ---Mark http://home.att.net/~mforder ...."The Box"

    1. [NJSUSSEX-L] WALTER family in Newton Twp.
    2. Ken Walter
    3. Recent information indicates that my 3rd great grandfather Henry WALTER was from Newton Twp., Sussex Co. He was born in 1778 - ancestors are unknown. The earliest record I have is his marriage to Catherine GRACE / GRESS in Sussex Co. Aug. 13, 1808. He was in Hamilton Twp. Northampton Co. PA by 1811 where his third child, John Gress WALTER was baptized in the Union Church (Evangelical Lutheran & Reformed Congregation) Aug. 13, 1812. Birth date for John G. is 13 Nov. 1811 but birth location may have been other than Hamilton Twp. Has anyone ran across any records of Henry??? Any ideas on where to look for info prior to 1812? He and Catherine had Margaret, b. 1807 and Jacob W. b. 4 Jul. 1810 (location for both unknown). Ken Walter Pasco, WA

    1. [NJSUSSEX-L] BRINK, RODIMER, FENNER, CONKLIN/CONGLETON FROM 1850s
    2. Hi, I am new to the mailing list and am researching the above families who have lived in Sussex Co since the 1850s maybe longer. Annie BRINK b. 1866 (d/o Dewitt BRINK and Sarah BRINK of Wantage) married Daniel RODIMER (s/o Theodore RODIMER and Cornelia SMITH of Frankford ). They had 5 children. I am trying to find how Theodore b. 1820 is related to Peter RODIMER b. 1809, possibly brothers?, and where they came from. Also Dewitt BRINK's grandfather was Samuel BRINK b. about 1778 (72 in 1850 census) who owned land in Wantage. I haven't had any luck finding out who his parents were. The FENNER's are from Stillwater. George FENNER b. 1860 (s/o Moses and Ellen FENNER) married Dorinda SOUTH (d/o John and Harriet SOUTH). They had 11 children. Their son John b. 1884 married Martha (Tillie ) CONKLIN b. 1879 who, I believe is the d/o Elias J. and Susan CONKLIN. I have traced Elias J. back to an Elias and Martha CONKLETON/CONGLETON of Stillwater. The FENNERs are buried in Baleville Cemetery. Does anyone know where the Conklin's are buried? I would be glad to exchange information on any of these families. Thanks, Mary Alvarado alv6011@ aol.com

    3. Hello everyone, I apologize for posting a message to all of you but I would like to ask for your help. I'm in the process of revamping my home page and would like some suggestions on what would be helpful to most of you when searching through the images. I know that my original page is fairly long and may take some time to load so I've been working on breaking out each section into its own page. Also, on my wish list I would like to add a "SEARCH" engine to make it easier to find things, the only problem is I'm not sure how to add one. The main page will be created using a 2 panel "FRAME", any comments or concerns? Here is a link to one of the subject related sub page.... http://home.att.net/~mforder/ADVERTISING.htm If you cannot view it or have trouble seeing it, any problems at all please let me know. If you can please provide some help I would really appreciate it and will do my best to add your suggestion to my page. Also, if you would like me to add a link from my links page to your please let me know, (links page... http://home.att.net/~mforder03/index-3.html ) Thanks, ---Mark http://home.att.net~mforder ....1800's Sussex Papers

    2. Cindy Torres Owens
    3. Remember when I said I'd get back to my Stillwell research when I "finished" w/ my Courtrights? Well guess who I found living near my John Courtright in South Beaver Twp., Beaver co., PA in 1815? Jeremiah Stillwell & Jeremiah Britten. They of course have been there all along & why I didn't notice I have no idea. I know they came from NJ/NY, but I don't know exactly who they are. Here's what the tax list says abt them: Britten, Jerrimiah, 298 acres, 4 horses, 4 cows. Stillwell, Jerimiah, 200 acres, 2 horses, 2 cows. Courtright, John, 1 cow. Poor ole John, he's never listed as owning any land. I'm starting to feel sorry for him! Cindy

    1. [NJSUSSEX-L] Nachbar/Neighbor and Schenkle
    2. Sharon I have some information on Henry Schenkle who married Ann Margaret Nachbar daughter of Leonard. Both were born in Germany and lived in Morris Co. They had a Daughter Susannah? who married Frederic Carl Spangenberg of my line about 1766, What time frame are you looking for. I have not worked on these to lines in many years but will help with what little I have if I can. There is a Nachbar/Neighbor descendent who wrote a history of the family and brought it forward. However if I recall it was the part that moved west to Ohio? I think. I have not talked with him in years but may still have his address somewhere. I know he moved and am not positive I have his new address. Peggy Pharris
