I desparately need the proof of parentage of my ancestor, Lydia Lewis KIRKPATRICK, who was born around 1742. Her father was an Edward LEWIS. She married John KIRKPATRICK (1729-1822) in Basking Ridge, Somerset Co in 1759/60, where they were both born. They are buried in the Yellow Frame Cemetery, Freyeinghuysen Twp., Warren Co. I have come across an Edward LEWIS (1722-1792) who married Sarah MORRIS (1728-1808) 30 May 1745. All events took place in Basking Ridge. DAR papers show their children as Joseph, Edward Jr. and Sarah, but no mention of a Lydia. I also show Lydia as being born around 1742 and this Edward and Sarah were not married until 1745. Could there have been an earlier unknown marriage? Can anyone connect Lydia to her father, Edward Lewis? Thank you, Gerry
