Greetings, all: I am new to this list. I am researching the Weidknecht family. Johannes George Weidknecht is found in Somerset county, NJ, as of 1710. He baptized most of his children (at least 13 of them) in Harlingen Church,Montgomery Twp.,Somerset,NJ. He raised his family, later, in "Hillsboro Township". He was active in the North Branch of the Reformed Dutch Church, and closely associated with they Stryker and Van Metre families. Is anyone researching the Weidknechts (Whitnah, Whiteneck, Whitenack) family; the Strykers or Van Metre families, or the Hegemen (Hegeman) families in Somerset county? Also, any "Buys" family information, as Johannes G.'s wife, Neeltje (Nederlander) may have been a Buys, and I am hoping to uncover her father, Cornelius Buys.
