Good morning, my name is Dick Wood from Tucson, AZ, formerly of Wayne County, PA. My quest is to find the ancestors of my g g grandfather, John R GASTON. He was married to Sarah CONKLIN and had four sons who lived in and around Damascus, Wayne County, PA. There were married June 1, 1852. Sarah was born in March 1, 1828. So if thery were about the same age, JOHN R would have been born 1825+/- . I believe he is a descendent of Hugh or Joseph Gaston from Ireland (1720+/-) who came to Pepack and Lamington, New Jersey, but I don't have any connection to link it up. My request is ask for any assisstance that might help me track down his (and mine) ancestors. One possibility I am presently pursuing is trying to get information about him from his military service. He was killed in the Civil War at the battle of the Wilderness on May 10, 1864. He served in Company "I" of the 84th Pennsylvania Infantry. Please reply directly to me, thanks in advance for any help.
