Greetings from New Mexico! I'm new to this listserve and am researching VanArsdalens. My 4-gr grandfather was Gilbert VanArsdalen, born in 1802, in New Jersey. Around 1829 he married Catherine Walker, born 1810 in NJ. Their two oldest sons, Cornelius (b 1829) and William (b 1831) were born in NJ. Based on transcriptions of VanArsdalen Bible records, I suspect that the family was from Somerset Co, but am not certain. By 1835 the family had relocated to Licking Co, Ohio. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. (As I'm not only new to this listserve, but also to research in NJ in general, any tips about doing research in NJ would appreciate as well.) Warmly, Daniel Powers
