    1. Help finding a county for ancestors
    2. Greetings all! I have a dilemma that I will hopefully get some responses to. I am trying to find the county that my ancestors came from. One is BRIGGS, the other HAZELTON/HAZLETON. I have their death certificates from NJ, USA, I have US Federal census records for several years, etc. But every document simply has "Born in Ireland." Nothing more specific than that. I know Maria BRIGGS was born approx. 1836 in N. Ireland, her husband John HAZELTON/HAZLETON was born in N. Ireland in 1835. His father was Thomas Hazelton. I don't know his mother. On Maria Hazelton's (nee Briggs) death CERT it states her father as "Briggs," her mother as "Unknown."(big help...) Family has it that they married in 1872, but the state of NJ has no record of it. Maria lived in Somerset Co., NJ, USA for at least 35 years prior to her death, basically at the same address. She is buried in Somerville, NJ, (d. 1906) as is her husband, John (d. 1877). According to the Census, Maria left Ireland in 1857. Does anyone have any sources to suggest as to find the county they were from? I've had lookups in Griffith's and Tithe. Is that the only way to search for them? (suppose they're not on it...) Would there be some document, like a deed, mortgage, etc. that might have the county they were from? Would an obituary have any more info.? (if I could find one) Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you, Paul
