I am trying to tie into an Allen line. What I have is a Sarah Allen who married a Joseph Hall about 1780. They were either from NJ or lived there awhile before moving to Hamilton Co, OH about 1800. My problem is that I find Allen and Hall families in the same county in both Someerset Co, NJ and in Middletown, CT and haven't yet been able to connect into either a Hall or an Allen line. If you get any info please post to list or let me know. Also posting to NJ and CT lists to see if anyone has info. I am looking for any information I can find on my Allen ancestors who were in Somerset Co. N.J. in the early 1600's. I have reason to believe, but have not found the documentation I need, that one of my earlier ancestors to come to America was one Ephriam John Allen who married about 1621 in Somerset, N.J. to a Deborah Hunt. Ephriam was believed to be the son of Anthony Allen and Hester Squire, both born and died in Dorchestshire, Eng. Ephriam and Deborah had John Ananias Allen who mar Elizabeth (?) and they were the parents of Ananias Allen born abt 1643, Somerset, N.J. This Ananias married a Mary (? & had Ananias Jr. on 6 May 1699, Somerset, who mar Hannah Hester. This Ananias died in 1757 in Orange Co., N.C.
