Hi: I'm new to the list. I am looking for the surnames LAFLER, COULE and DARCH in Hillsborough township. Court Coule died in 1755 leaving a will. He owned land in both Somerset and Hunterdon Counties. He had daughters: Ann who married Michael Miers and Margaret who married Peter Laffnard. Court's wife was Coartrout?. There may have been other children but they were not mentioned in the will. Court was a yeoman. His son in law Peter Laffnard was an executor of the will and signed it as Peter Lafler. Peter Lafler died in Hillsborough township in 1786. He left no will -Letter of Administration and there was an inventory. He had sons: Jacob, Peter, Coonrod and possibly John. Coonrod married Agnes DARCH in 1759. He was in the American Revolution. He had a large family. They moved to northeastern Pennsylvania and then into Ontario County, NY. Some of the family moved to Yates and Steuben Counties. Laflers to this day live in that area. Believe that is son Jacob went to the Cleveland area and had son, Issac who married Diantha Thorpe. Also believe that John Lafler married Mary Tilton and stayed in Somerset Co. My great-grandfather, Harvey Lafler was the son of Isaac Lafler. He was born in Cleveland and died in Hancock County, IL 1870. His brother and two sisters moved to Michigan. Another sister moved to IL and later to Nebraska. I'm looking for these names - LAFLER, COULE and DARCH in Somerset County. Can anyone help me? Lafler may be spelled Laffler, Lefler, Leflar, Leffler, etc. Coule is probably Kuhl and may now be Cool. Thanks. Annie Lloyd Los Angeles
