She also died in Middlesex. Or may be someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks. Bob Phillips Branchport, NY

I would be very interested in finding this out also. I have many relatives for whom I need more information which might be contained in their obits going even further back. I am expecially interested in the Plainfield Courier-News. Barbara David
Dick, I agree with your identification of these families. Here's a question for you. Regarding this baptism: April 7, 1754, Rapelye , Cornelis and Maria, child: Saertie, witnesses: Denis V.D.Byldt and wife Saertie I suspect that Denis V.D. Byldt is a grandson of Denis Van Duyn. Is he in your files? If so, who was his wife? I'm looking for information on Abram FRAZEE and wife Sarah ? They moved to New Jersey in 1824. I don't know if Abram FRAZEE was originally from NJ, moved to NYC, then back to NJ. I only have the name of one child, Phebe D. Frazee b. Sept. 13, 1814 in NYC. Phebe FRAZEE m. Dr. Henry MARTIN of Metuchen, and Plainfield, NJ. Alice
Barbara, The Coontown Cemetery near Mt Horeb...if you are referring to the Trinity United Church Cemetery, that was commonly know as the Coontown Church, there are no SWODY burials listed. Alice
I am researching my grandfather VALENTINE SWODY whio lived in GreenBrook Township from at least 1920 until his death in 1937. He was a retired farmer at the time of his death at almost 100 years of age. He was from Germany either Hamburg or Frankfurt. He married 2x, the 2nd time to my grandmother Fernie Nittinger with whom he had three children. He had several children by his first wife whose name may be either Sarah or Mary. He lists 4 sons by her on his naturalization papers but no daughters. I believe he had some daughters by her also. He and his first wife are buried in unmarked graves at the Coontown Cemetery near Mt Horeb. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with the cemetery? His sons were: William b 1868 in Whitehouse, in 1933 lived at Liberty Corners Frank b 1892 in Coontown, in 1933 lived in North Plainfield Henry b 1894 in Warrenville, in 1933 lived in North Plainfield (died 1991) Peter b 1895 in North Plainfield, in 1933 lived in North Plainfield Any information or advice will be most appreciated Barbara A David
Dear Listers: Can anyone make connections with any of these people? If yes, please contact me for an information exchange. My ggggrandparents were Richard Rappleyea (1769?-1729?) and Alice Covenhoven. Their son was Richard R. Rappleyea (ca. 1814- 1884) who married Cornelia Anderson (ca. 1820-1866). I am trying to find an address to obtain a copy of this marriage record. Can anyone tell me the location? I added a picture of the Clover Hill Dutch Reformed Church to my webpage this morning. If your family is from that church you might want to see it. As you'll see from the photo, the church is now positioned right ON Amwell Road, which is Route 514. The cemetery is surrounding the church to the rear. the name Ludlow is familiar - I think some of mine were married by him. I'll keep this info and when I go to the church - or wherever - to check out mine, I'll see if I can find yours. Does anyone have the records for the Presbyterian church, Basking Ridge? I am trying to connect my Matilda Nesbit who married John Ely Snedeker with the Nesbit/Nesbitt family. Matilda's father was John Nesbitt and Margaret Sutton. That is all I know on her line. A Nancy Nesbit and Frederick Cox signed Matilda's birth certificate. Her father was in the war of 1812. Matilda was born 1813. A Nancy was Christened Sep 14, 1796 in the Presbyterian Ch, B.R. She was also married Apr 19, 1812. She was from Bridgewater Twp, Somerset. Frederick W Cox is also listed on her married certificate. Frederick Cox was born Jul 14, 1778 in Somerset. I think this is my line of Nesbits and need to connect them all. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Shirley
Hi Robert and all, I am also stuck with a Reed in Somerset County. My Rachel Reed (1786-c1835) was married to Joseph Bonnell Sturgis in Nov 1805 at Basking Ridge. I am a descendant of their son Joseph James Sturgis (1815-1896). Rachel has been a real brick wall for me and I'd love to hear from anyone with ANY Reeds (or Reid) from 18th century Somerset County. Thanks, Rick Novak
