Hi, Joan and everyone. : ) Pitman used to be a thriving vacation community. There was a lovely amusement park off Alcyon lake, which was *the* place to go. Fishing, boating shopping and general recreation abounded. The Grove in Pitman is an area made up of the small, closely set old vacation cottages from the good ol' days. I remember in High School, when we played Pitman High, we would chant, "Go home Grovers, go home!" *sigh* Ah, nostalgia. *grin* The kids can't call them Grovers today, though--my friend's daughter tells me it's considered an insult.
