Hello Listmembers, In looking through the Salem Co., NJ Census of 1860 I find the following information on the Seeds Family. I think you are looking for Pittsgrove, as to tyhe best of my knowledge there is no Pittman Grove. There is a Union Grove in Salem Co., and a Pittman in Gloucester Co., but I think you want Pittsgrove in Salem Co., NJ In Pittsgrove Township Salem Co., NJ All of the following were living in the SAME household in the 1860 Census (* note this is the spelling as in this book*) (* note these family's had others living in the same house with different last names) 1st household Page in 1860 Census #31 Page in this book # 28 Name Age Sex Occupation Birthplace Gibson, Hannah 40 F Domestic NJ Gibson, Isaac 16 M NJ Gibson, Jacob 13 M NJ Seedes, Christopher 38 M Laborer NJ Seedes, Catharin 34 F NJ Seedes, Phebe 12 F NJ Seedes, Isaac 9 M NJ Seedes, Hepsey 6 F NJ Seedes, Samuel 2 M NJ Seedes, baby 2/12 M NJ All of the above were living in the same house. ***************** In the house listed right next door was the following Seeds family, with yet a different name spelling, as follows; In Pittsgrove Township Salem Co., NJ All of the following were living in the SAME household in the 1860 Census (* note this is the spelling as in this book*) (* note these family's had others living in the same house with different last names) 2nd household Page in 1860 Census #31 Page in this book # 28 Name Age Sex Occupation Birthplace Seeds, Owen 45 M Laborer NJ Seeds, Rebecca 33 F NJ Potter, Michael 28 M Master Farmer NJ Potter, Margaret Ann 19 F NJ Potter, Ann Laura 5/12 F NJ Rennels, George 30 M Laborer NJ Rennels, Ann 31 F NJ Rennels, Sarah 1 F NJ All of the above were living in the same house. ***************** The 2 famlies above are the only Seeds / Seedes family living in Salem Co., NJ in the 1860 census, So, if your Christopher Seed's father was living then he was not in Salem County. In looking at those who have a headstone in Olivet Cemetery I find the following 2 in the OLIVET METHODIST CEMETERY in Pittsgrove Twp., Salem Co., NJ Seeds, Ella, Stanton, b. 1874, d. 1942, W/o Monroe Seeds, Seeds, Monroe, (no dates) H/o Ella Stanton Seeds, I hope this has been of some help to you in your search.
