My Mathias was posted on the 1830 and 1840 Pilesgrove Twp., Salem Co., N.J. Census. In 1840 he was 50/60 (probably 52), with a wife age 50/60. He had 2 sons 15/20; 20/30 and 3 daughters 5/10; 10/15; 15/20. I don't know the name of this wife or any of the children. Mathias M. Moore married my ancestor, Hannah Keen 1845. Both resided in Woodstown, N.J. I found Mathias M. McMoore on the New Castle, Delaware Census for 1850. He was listedas a shop keeper / 900/ age 62 from Jersey. His wife was Hannah age 41; Gilbert Decan 11 (born 1839); John W. Moore 4; Mulford D. 3 (My ancestor). Hannah Keen was his second wife. The listing on the census raises some questions. Gilbert Decan was listed first, then John W. was listed with the last name Moore and then Mulford whom I know is Moore. Who is Gilbert Decan?? Mathias and Hannah's marriage record listed at the Gloucester County Historical Society, show her title as Mrs. That leads me to believe this is a second marriage for her as well. I have found a marriage record for Hannah Deacon and Elijah Keen 2/7/1833 in Salem Co., N.J.. I have also found a record for Hannah Deacon born abt 1808 (right time period) who is daughter of Gilbert Deacon born abt 1775 andc Sarah French forn 19 Apr, 1777. The relationship of Gilbert Decan on the 1850 census is unclear. Could he! be a brother of Hannah Keen????? In 1860, I can't find Mathias. I found his 2 sons, John W. and Mulford D. working on a farm in Salem County, N.J. I think he died between 1850 and 1860 probably in Delaware. I can't find his burial place or death record as of now. I don't know when Hannah, his wife died either. My g, grandfather, Mulford D. Moore is found on the Pilesgrove Twp., Salem County, N.J. Census with his wife Anna. His brother, John W. Moore is found on the Mannington Twp. , Salem County, N.J. Census with his wife Martha S. This Mathias M. Moore has a lot of desendents. Someone must be working on him. I want to know who his parents are and where they come from. I would love to know his date of death and burial place. Any information at all would be wonderful. This is a huge brick wall for me.
