    2. These inquests must have been terrible for families and relatives torn apart over the Revolution, with Patriots vs Loyalists in such small tightly knit communities. After the inquests and confiscation of lands and possessions did most of the Loyalists move to Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia? Or were they taken in by forgiving family members or head west? Apparently they were totally penniless -- did wives and children go with them? Such a painful time when you read all these known surnames from that era.
