War with NJ regiment. But could have been Mass. as I see there was a deserter from Capt. Burr's men in Easton also named John Colwell. Mine arrived in NB Canada 1783 with the Loyalists. His dates: about 1738-1808. Son John 1785-1863 married 1804 Mary HUTCHINSON in NB. Please, can anyone help with this mysterious John Colwell??
