Yes Robin -- TB was called "consumption" because it consumed the whole body with terrible wracking coughing spasms in later stages of the disease. There was no cure and often other members of a family also came down with Tuberculosis. Where they were sent in NJ I don't know but they were sent off to Sanitariums to isolate them and usually they were in the country for the benefits of "fresh air." Joan
