Hi, I hope they have the info I have been searching for on my 4th great grandfather Lorenzo D. (sometime "C") Keen b. abt. 1812 I think Barbara McCormick told me there are more people in the Sharptown ME Church cemetery than headstones. I hope that is what she was trying to tell me. If not---sorry Barbara. I have been searching for him for over 20 years and have only found a few things and his OBIT which did not mention where he was buried. The Lorenzo D. Keen that is in the cemetery is the others Lorenzo's grandchild. I hope my trip back home in a few months will be fruitful. Here it is! I have been there a couple of times. I found local family information. Also some maps of 1870's that told me where my 2nd great grandmother had lived. Sally Smith Waters and Reeve
1. When someone takes time to go through a cemetery and carefully record (and proofread) everything all sthe stones say, they are to be applauded! 2. Sometimes, a vol. records only stones that are of interest to herself or himself (or, when time runs out) -- but that's a whole lot better than nothing! 3. What one or more writers to this website have said, was that ONLY HALF (and maybe less) of the words on tombstones at the Sharptown cem. have been recorded and published on a site such as this. 4. One writer seems to challenge YOU to make up the difference, on your next visit. Wouldn't that be a fine service!!! I will applaud you, if you do! ----From: "Robin Stinson" ((clip)) I think Barbara McCormick told me there are more people in the Sharptown ME Church cemetery than headstones.
