    1. Re: [NJSALEM] Elias Styles (Stiles) & Rebecca Grantling
    2. Hi there, Do you show any LACYs/LACEYs from Gloucester or Salem Counties in your line? Regards, Joan In a message dated 11/26/2006 5:24:28 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, sandralovesbooks@yahoo.com writes: I'm looking for any information on the families of either Elias Styles (in future documents it's spelled Stiles) or Rebecca Grantling (LDS records record Rebecca incorrectly as Grantline). Elias and Rebecca lived in Pilesgrove and married (according to records in Gloucester County Historic Society) on 31 October 1832. They were the parents of at least 6 children. Names I know are Beulah, Barclay (who served in the Civil War), Albert, Rebecca and John. There may have also been a Clayton and a Mahala (Mahalia) who died young as they are each listed on only 1 census. The family are listed on the Pilesgrove, Salem County NJ 1850 Census. After this time Elias apparently dies as Rebecca becomes the head of household. She continues to be listed in Pilesgrove but the younger boys become laborers. John W., the youngest, was my great-grandfather and married Hannah Chard of Ferrell.
