I have run into a few Hogates born around the same time (c. 1790) as my Rhoda and think they are siblings or cousins. Problem is, no one knows their parents! In terms of your Dare family connections to Hogates and Counsellors, I'll let you know what I run into! The generation you connect with, Christopher Hogate born about 1837 I believe you said and married to Amanda Counsellor born about 1846, falls into line with my GGGgrandfather Daniel Counsellor. He was born April 1830. The 1830 Elsinboro census shows a brother between 5 to 10 years old. Don't know if that could be the John, father of Amanda Counsellor, in your line.
