Dear Dolores Alliance Cemetery is a Jewish Cemetery. It is located on Gershal Avenue. All early & present day Jewish people are buried there. There is another Old Jewish cemetery on Landis Avenue & Rt 55 that was used I do not remember it's name so I will look at the entrance gate this weekend when I drive by.They may be buried there there is only one caretaker of that cemetery. Alliance has either one or 2 persons taking care of it. They still bury there. That cemetery is also right near my house I also drive by there. The Synagogue is on Almond Rd.I can see it from my house. They do not have a phone there. Bernstein is a well known name in Vineland,NJ(a doctor), Pickholtz I have never heard of.They may have lived in Vineland & buried in Alliance Cemetery which is the only Jewish Cemetery. It may take me a week or two as I am busy this weekend, to take a walk to Alliance Cemetery. I will look for your two surnames to see if I find any info for you. Do you have any dates on them? As I will know better which section to look for you. Margaret, I applaud your thoroughness in attempting to help readers who may have relatives buried at Alliance Cem. in Rosenhayn. I had chimed in briefly myself, as did Andrea, but would like to make it clear that I do not have any relatives buried there, myself. I was merely trying to help, since Steve, the inquirer, appeared to need some "what to do next" suggestions. He has since asked why I found Rootsweb's having both lists and boards by the same names to be confusing. If a List post "gateways" (repeats) to a Board by the same name, then both groups can read it. Great! Why not? However, if you are only on the List, and innocenty write a reply, it will only get back to the List members, leaving the author (from the Board) and most others, thinking no one replied. Untill Rootsweb pulls its ostrich-head from the ground on this matter, even more confusion will follow. Until then, the small percentage of we who finally realize this problem, must remember to take time to post on BOTH the Jones (or whatever) List AND Jones Board, to reach more readers. Rootsweb's other perplexing practice is to offer BOTH "Digest" and daily messages to subscriber addresses. Digest subscribers get all messages once a week instead of daily, which (figure it out!) results in the SAME bytes, except all at once! I have corresponded with some of them behind the scenes, and found that they actually think they would LOSE some of the daily posts if they don't retrieve their e-mail more than weekly! (I have posts from more than a year ago saved at my Hotmail address, if anyone still thinks that's true!) Worse yet, please notice that many of the Digest subscribers' responses still carry the generic "DIGEST" headline, causing the rest of us to either trash it immediately or painstakenly read each one, to discover on WHAT SUBJECT WITHIN the Digest they cared to comment. --- Dolores in Del. ----Original Message Follows---- From: "Margaret Munson-Quiles" <memunsonquiles@msn.com> Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2007 ((clip -- see her message, plus mine and Steve's)) I will look for your two surnames to see if I find any info for you.
