    2. Hi Susan, I am looking for Jacob and Elizabeth Davis, who were Friends. I believe Jacob died in 1824 and Elizabeth sometime after him. Do either appear in that book you have? Thank you in advance for searching for me. Judy Walker

    2. I have some information on a John M Lounsbury, died Jan 1, 1817 age 25. This information came from the small 32 page book I bought from the GCHS, "Sharptown, Salem County NJ," by Frank H Stewart, President Gloucester Co HS, reprinted from the Salem Standard Jerseyman, 1931-1932. There are 3 pages with information concerning the "History of Old Pilesgrove Meeting House", as well as a listing of those buried in that area, The Names of Those Who Sleep in Old Pilesgrove Meeting House Graveyard, Near Sharptown,Salem County NJ. There is no index, but I'd be happy to do look ups for that Cemetery. Susan

    3. Robin..... I'm assuming you have his death date (in the obit) so why don't you get his death certificate from Trenton. That will tell you where he's buried. The Pilesgrove Methodist Church was built in 1795 by Joel Abbott. In 1835 the Sharptown Methodist Church opened. The cemetery transcriptions for the Pilesgrove Church only number about 221 however, there are possibly 500 people buried there. 3. Hi, I went by that cemetery this spring while I was visiting my dad. Took a few pictures. I have heard in the past that it is the original Sharptown ME church. It was a log cabin and it was pretty much messed up and I think in the early 1900's it caught on fife and burned down. I wish t here was a complete listing of that cemetery. I believe my 4th great grandfather was buried their. Was their a listing of who it their at the Sharptown ME church. I know there are a few very old books somewhere. I plan a week trip or so somewhere between January and May Lord Willing. Mostly a research trip. Question: Who would know where my 4th great grandfather is buried. He appeared out of know where in 1942 or so. I have his OBIT and it does not mention where he was buried. He was a butcher in Sharptown. Also I remember when growing up around their hearing about some vandalism at the Cemetery that is being used now in the early to mid 70's. Does anyone remember that? If these stones were knocked down and not fixed he could be their. When did they stop burring people on Jill Rd.? When did they start burring people at the cemetery at Sharptown? There is a Woodstown Historical society close by. What kind of records do they keep their. I hear it is not a lot but maybe I would find my answer. Thanks for letting me ramble.
