    3. Hi Alan, There was a fire at the parsonage circa 1795.. All that survived as far as records was the pastor's book from 1775.. It's on the CD set I'm selling to raise money for the church. Email me off list if you're interested. I also have a list of the people in the old cemetery (pre-1802) whose stones they have found and could read the names on (as of last 6 yrs or so). -andrea On 10/18/06, Alan Buckingham <a.d.buckingham@verizon.net> wrote: > Hello All, > > I have scanned and uploaded 20 more pages from the book "History of Salem > County, New Jersey" to my web site. 2. Barbara, I have very little CONFIRMED info on my HOLTONs. I KNOW that my gr- gr-grandmother, Catherine HOLTON, married my gr-gr granfather, Henry WEISS in Salem County ca 1846. I BELIEVE she was the daughter of John HOLTON and Sarah BIDDLE, and I BELIEVE that Sarah was the daughter of William BIDDLE and Catherine/Catherina FLANAGAN Biddle Peterson. I also BELIEVE that Catherine had both a brother and an uncle named Charles HOLTON. My sources for this include a will abstract and some marriage index records. But with the names all being very similar, I am still treating this as 'theory' and not 'proved'. Does any of this tie in with your info? John Robart b ca 1770, wife Amelia "Milly" possibly English. They apparently moved to Dennis Twp., Cape May Co. before 1798. About that time Vincent Robart, wife Roxanna moved to Upper Twp., Cape May Co. Vincent had owned land near Elmer. John and family moved to Tuscarawas Co., Ohio in 1808. Vincent and family moved to Atlantic Co. They apparently were the sons of John Robart, Sr. as they were probbly those listed in The 1793 Militia Census.

    3. 1. When someone takes time to go through a cemetery and carefully record (and proofread) everything all sthe stones say, they are to be applauded! 2. Sometimes, a vol. records only stones that are of interest to herself or himself (or, when time runs out) -- but that's a whole lot better than nothing! 3. What one or more writers to this website have said, was that ONLY HALF (and maybe less) of the words on tombstones at the Sharptown cem. have been recorded and published on a site such as this. 4. One writer seems to challenge YOU to make up the difference, on your next visit. Wouldn't that be a fine service!!! I will applaud you, if you do! ----From: "Robin Stinson" ((clip)) I think Barbara McCormick told me there are more people in the Sharptown ME Church cemetery than headstones. ((clip)) I hope my trip back home in a few months will be fruitful.
