A posting by Teri Tighe on this board gives a description of the property (1819, Robert Peterson deed to Clayton Locason.) This property was at the corner of Pedricktown Road and the Penns Neck Road. Robert's property is adjacent to John Jaquett, June? Jaquett, John Jurdens, Joseph Hampton, and Clayton Locason. The dilemma I have is I don't know who owned the property prior to Robert and Elizabeth Peterson. I'm hoping that maybe one of the above named individuals might list a neighbor that owned the property previous to the Petersons. If anyone has deeds by these individuals (1819 and earlier) I would love to hear what neighbors are mentioned in them. Once again their names are John Jaquett, June? Jaquett, John Jurdens, Joseph Hampton, and Clayton Locason, Thank you. Steve Peterson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. But I think in 1890 it might have been listed as Penn's Neck. Also search Penns Grove and Pennsville. Those Penns Grove is directly a 1 square mile town in the middle of Carneys Point township and Pennsville is just to the south. But do include Penn's Neck in the search. Joe, Thanks so very much. This does help me quite a bit and it makes sense that this is the location of Washington Neck. I am not familiar with Washington Park but I do know Red Bank and her husband died "near Red Bank" some years later. Henry Charlton Beck has written a series of books on New Jersey's lost towns. Fascinating lore, and it could well expose the town you are looking for. Back in 50's I stumbled into a place named Othello in South Jersey. It was a fascinating town, but apparently unknown to maps. Haines Brown
